Hold up, I bet you know where this is already going, and your fears are indeed correct! In Pokemon Unite, you can hold up to three Held Items at a time, and they can be leveled up to have their effect increased. Think of Held Items as your Pokémon’s pregame loadout. The problem? It is all because of Held Items. However, where the titans succeed in avoiding pay-to-win microtransactions, Pokemon Unite utterly fails. Pokémon Unite is free-to-play which is not strange because so are the titans of the genre: League of Legends and Dota 2.
